Advocacy & Representation
Imams have shaped Muslim life in North America for generations. That contribution has been chronically underrecognised — professionally, civically, and institutionally. NAIF exists to change that.
What Advocacy Means At Naif
Professional Advocacy — NAIF advocates for fair compensation standards, contractual protections, and professional rights for imams. We support members navigating workplace challenges and work with mosques and Islamic centres to establish professional employment standards.
Civic Advocacy — NAIF amplifies the collective voice of the imam community in conversations that affect Muslim life in North America: policy discussions, interfaith platforms, government consultations, and media narratives.
Public Education — We work to correct misrepresentations of the imam role in public discourse and build the cultural understanding that imams are community professionals deserving of respect and institutional support.
Current Advocacy Priorities
